Terms of Service

You must be 18 or older. You need an account to message anyone, and you may hold only one account. Verifying a phone number is how we enforce that: one number, one account.

RoomyCity is a place to find people and rooms. We are not a landlord, an agent, or a party to any lease or agreement you sign. We do not handle rent, deposits, or any other payment between members, and we never will ask you to send money through us.

We verify what we can (email, phone, and later government ID), but verification is not a guarantee about a person or a property. Meet in person, see the room, and read anything you sign.

You are responsible for what you post and for keeping your login secure. You keep ownership of your photos and text; you give us permission to display them on RoomyCity for as long as your account is live.

Listings must be for real rooms you are entitled to offer. Profiles must be about you, and your photos must be of you.

No scams, no fake listings, no requests for money before a viewing, no harassment, and no discriminatory advertising. Do not scrape the site, resell access, or use it to advertise anything other than housing.

Preference fields for shared homes exist because Canadian human-rights codes provide a narrow shared-accommodation exemption. They are optional, and they do not license discriminatory language anywhere else on the site.

We may hide content, suspend, or close an account that breaks these rules, and we act faster on anything that looks like a scam. You can close your account at any time from your settings; we soft-delete immediately and purge within 30 days.

We provide RoomyCity as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what members do, for any tenancy you enter, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under Canadian consumer-protection law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
